Before pulling any of the runes out of their bag for use in divination, hold the bag containing the runes in your hand and say something asking for assistance in your divination. For instance: "All Father Odin, Rune-Master, Lead me to true knowledge of sacred runes. Freya, Mistress of Magick, Vana-Goddess of Seidr, Reveal to me the future paths." Stir the runes gently and .....

A) Pick seven runes without looking and concentrate on your question while holding them in your hands. Gently toss them onto the ground or floor in front of you (preferably onto a dark cloth). Near you is the present. Far from you is the future. Any sticks that touch or overlap have a direct influence on each other. Upside down ones are to be read as NEG if applicable.

or B) Draw three runes from the bag without looking. Lay them in a horizontal line starting from the left. Left signifying past, middle future, and right future. If the future rune is unclear you can draw up to three more runes to clarify it. NEG applies if the rune is in reversed position or if it lies next to one that is.

or C) Draw five runes without looking and lay them in an equal armed cross. Middle = person involved. Sides = present conditions affecting person's question. Bottom = past still influencing. Top = future. Neg if in reversed position.

or D) Pick nine runes without looking, hold them in your hands and say #. Hold runes in hands over a cloth, concentrate on your question, gently toss on cloth saying *. Nearest are past or things moving away from questioner. Farther away = farther in future. In reversed position read NEG. If off cloth or upside down not read.
